Photos can make almost any listing look right. A few questions before you book tend to matter more than the photos do.
Booking accommodation from a listing site, without having been to the island, means you're making a decision based almost entirely on photos and a location pin. That works out fine most of the time — but the handful of times it doesn't usually come down to a question nobody thought to ask beforehand. A few worth asking before you commit:
A pin on a map doesn't tell you whether a beach, a grocery store, or a restaurant is a five-minute walk or a twenty-minute drive on roads you don't know yet. Ask the property directly, or ask someone local, before you assume.
Some properties have a straightforward self check-in. Others need coordination — a manager, a gate code, a timing window. Knowing which one you're dealing with before you land, not after a long flight, makes the first hour a lot easier.
Air conditioning, a stocked kitchen, pool access, parking — listings vary in what they actually spell out. If something matters to your trip, ask about it specifically rather than assuming it's included because the photos suggest it.
A responsive host or property manager matters more once you're on the island than it does during the booking process. If a listing doesn't make that clear, it's worth asking before you commit.
Once you've booked, ROAM's Villa Concierge can handle the property side — check-in details, groceries stocked before you land, and questions relayed to the host — as part of the Concierge service.
Tell us your dates and what you're picturing — we'll take it from there.
